Mango and Jamun are very similar in their attributes. Once the season of mangoes starts, Jaman too become available; usually when monsoon sets in. It exists in three types; a smaller sized Jaman which is desi in variety, a second variety called pahlanda and a third variety which has a smaller fleshy part.

There are many medicinal benefits of Jaman. Cure for diabetes can be found in Jaman too where production of insulin is lessened; sugar content in body is increased to such an extent that it starts to appear in urine as well. Solution to diabetes only lies in precautionary measures in terms of intake of food Tthis is where Jaman can provide an additional cure when diabetes type 2 is considered. The benefits of Jaman are limited in type 1. If a sugar patient eats a mango then his sugar level can be controlled if he eats Jaman right after it.

Jaman also helps in fighting gastro and other stomach problems which arise after the advent of monsoon rains. Effects of sunstroke can be lessened too by eating Jaman. Pimples, scars and other facial problems can be reduced if Jaman is eaten or taken in juice form to increase facial glow. External use of Jaman can be done by mixing their fleshy part in some water and applying this paste on your face. Jaman also strengthens the immune system, thickens birth fluid and eases urinal pain and irritation.

Also if some infection appears in the mouth, take soft leaves of Jaman (250 gm) and boil them in 1 kg of water. Use this as mouthwash. Jaman also helps in soothing sore throat. Jaman also helps control drooling while asleep along with curing indigestion .to strengthen stomach and intestine, take 250 gm of vinegar of Jaman, add 750 gm of sugar and use this.

Blood from rectum can be controlled by taking 20 gm of Jaman leaves in 250 gm of milk, grinding and draining the leaves to drink the milk. Jaman is also known for its ability to act as an anti depressant and calm a person if he suffers from anxiety.

For diabetes patients, when the season of Jaman does not exist, powder of Jaman seeds could be used and eaten in quantity of 3 gm in the morning without eating anything first and at 5 in the evening.

Moreover diabetes patients could make a powder like mixture of 20 gm Jaman seeds,10 gram Tabashir nuqra ,15 gm of edible ellaichi and use one teaspoon of it first thing in the morning and in the evening too. Drink one glass of water alongside it and keep eating this powder for 21 days for sugar to be controlled. To cure memory loss or lack of sleep, dry jaman seeds and grind them. Eat this powder for 20 days, 3 gram in the morning (without eating anything) and evening.

Young girls and women suffering from ‘licoria could use Jaman seeds 50 gram, grind them and add 10 gram of kushta of chicken’s egg. Use this powder 2-3 gram according to age in the morning and in the evening. Use this with milk or water for 20 days (don’t use during menstruation cycle.

Excess of bleeding during periods could also be controlled by drying jaman leaves and grinding them to a powder. Use this every morning (without eating anything) along with a glass of water. Powder of Jaman seeds is beneficial for cure of blood in body‘s excretory waste material. Use this powder along with Anjbar sherbet for better results.

Use outer skin of jaman tree, boil it and drink this water for many of the above mentioned benefits. To stop bleeding from gums, use this water for gargles after adding salt.
